Our Mission
“We are a youth-led community bridging the gap in digital equity. Through free tech support, we empower older adults with the confidence and knowledge to stay connected."
Our Services
-
Patient, step-by-step guidance for navigating smartphones, tablets, and laptops. We handle everything from basic initial setup to unfreezing screens, managing passwords, and updating software.
-
We empower older adults to protect their personal information by teaching them how to confidently identify phishing emails, fraudulent text messages, and unsafe websites.
-
We take the frustration out of communication by teaching the ins and outs of video calling apps (like FaceTime and Zoom), messaging platforms, and photo-sharing tools so staying in touch with family is effortless.
-
We provide guided support for navigating the modern web, including safe online shopping, using digital calendars, and finding reliable information online.
-
We never just take the device and fix it behind a screen. We sit down side-by-side, move at the individual's pace, and focus on building their digital confidence for the future.
Who
we are
At Bridging the Years, our goal is to transform how older adults experience the digital world through free, patient, one-on-one tech support. However, our intended impact goes far beyond simply fixing a frozen screen or resetting a password. By pairing trained high school volunteers with older adults, we aim to eliminate digital isolation, foster meaningful intergenerational friendships, and empower our community's residents with the confidence to safely navigate technology so they can stay connected to the people they love most.
